Privacy policy

Who we are

This website is run by Garage Door Group, a family owned garage door business in North Auckland. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Garage Door Group. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this site, and we handle it in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, quote request or service booking, we collect what you type into the form: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the type of job and your message.

Alongside the form we record how you found us: the page you first landed on, the website that referred you, any advertising campaign details in the link you clicked (such as a Google Ads click identifier or campaign tags), and the Google Analytics identifiers for your visit. This is how we know which of our ads and pages actually bring in work.

When you ring us from the site, a call tracking service may show you a different phone number, so we can tell which ad or page led to the call.

How we use it

We use your enquiry to reply to you, quote, book and carry out the work, and to follow up on it. We use the information about how you found us to measure and improve our advertising. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry.

Cookies and similar tools

This site uses cookies and similar technology from these providers to measure visits and advertising: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads; the Meta (Facebook) pixel; Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used, such as clicks and scrolling; Microsoft Advertising; and AVANSER call tracking. Our Google reviews are shown using EmbedSocial, and the enquiry form is protected from spam by Cloudflare Turnstile.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, although we will not be able to tell how you found us.

Who we share it with

Your enquiry is emailed to us and passed to our marketing measurement provider, who matches enquiries to the advertising that produced them on our behalf. The tools above receive information about your visit under their own privacy policies. Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand, including in Australia and the United States.

We may also share information where the law requires it, or with a supplier such as Windsor Doors where that is needed to handle a warranty claim for you.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them to do the work, honour warranties and meet our legal and tax obligations, and then delete them.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email chris@gdgroup.co.nz or ring 09 242 4278. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is the current one. Last updated 28 September 2026.
