Repairs
Garage door repairs, done fast
Garage door repairs across North Auckland, usually done on the first visit. A door that has stopped is not something to live with, and we have technicians on the road here every day.

What usually goes wrong
Six faults account for most of the calls we take. If yours is on this list, we have almost certainly fixed it this week.
Garage doors use torsion or extension springs to balance their weight, and springs wear out. This is the most common failure and the most dangerous to touch, because the spring is under extreme tension even when the door is down.
Cables carry the weight of the door, and they fray before they snap, particularly on older systems. A snapped cable can drop a door, so it is worth acting on the fraying rather than waiting.
Reversed the ute into the door? It happens more than you would think. We can supply and fit a replacement panel matched to your existing door rather than replacing the whole thing.
This can be the sensor, the motor, the remote, a spring or a cable, and the symptom looks the same for all of them. We diagnose it on site rather than guessing over the phone.
Grinding, banging or squealing usually means loose hardware, worn rollers or a problem developing in the opener. Noise is the warning that arrives before the expensive failure, so it is worth acting on.
The weather seal at the bottom degrades over time and lets water and draughts in. It is one of the simplest and least expensive things on this list to fix.

Repair or replace?
Most doors that have stopped can be repaired, and a repair on a structurally sound door costs a fraction of a new one. Springs, cables, rollers, sensors, seals and motors are all serviceable parts.
Replacement is the better answer when the panels are corroded or badly damaged, when the door is old enough that parts are no longer made, or when it is genuinely the wrong door for the opening.
We will tell you which one you are looking at, and if it can be repaired we would rather repair it. That is how we end up being the people you call the next time something goes wrong.
Doors we repair
We repair doors regardless of who supplied or installed them.
- Sectional doors, any brand
- Residential roller doors
- Light commercial roller doors on workshops and farm sheds
- Aluminium and timber doors

- Doors we did not install, which is most of the repair work we do
Why work with us
The sectional and roller doors we fit are manufactured at Windsor's Auckland facility. Building them here is what keeps the wait between quote and installation short.
Expect about two weeks from accepting the quotation to installation day. Specialist architectural doors and powder coated finishes take a little longer.
If your door has failed and the car is stuck inside, we aim to be with you the same day, and we will tell you straight away if we cannot.
Our best-selling range is locally manufactured NZ COLORSTEEL, with a 10 year warranty against defects. Standard non-COLORSTEEL doors carry 2 years.
Locally owned, serving Warkworth, Mangawhai and Silverdale. We know which products last in North Auckland conditions.
Our team gets it right the first time, which is why the Google reviews read the way they do.
Competitive rates, and we measure up and quote before you commit to anything.
Chris handles your job start to finish. No account manager in between.
Common questions
Call us, or fill in the quote form and we will come back to you within 24 hours. If the door is stuck, will not close or is unsafe, phone rather than emailing, because that is what gets you into the day's run rather than tomorrow's. Tell us what the door is doing and roughly how old it is, and we can usually bring the right parts on the first visit.
Yes, including outside regular hours. A door that will not close is a security problem, and a door that has dropped or is hanging unevenly is a safety one, so both get treated as urgent. Call rather than emailing for anything in that category. We have technicians on the road across North Auckland and Rodney every day, so you are not waiting for someone to come up from the city.
It depends entirely on the fault. We are generally on site between one and four hours for repairs and servicing, and most of the common faults are fixed on the first visit because the vans carry the usual springs, cables, rollers and sensors. Unusual door sizes and older systems sometimes need a part ordered, and we tell you that at the assessment rather than after we have started.
Yes. Repair, service and warranty work we carry out is covered for 3 months from completion, and the parts we fit carry their own cover on top of that, for example 1 year on springs. The full terms are on our warranty page. If something we repaired fails within that period, you call us and we come back. You are dealing with the owner rather than a call centre, which is what makes that promise worth something.
Some things, yes. Replacing remote batteries, clearing the sensor path and tightening obviously loose hardware are all reasonable to do yourself. Springs and cables are not. They are under extreme tension even when the door is closed, they cause serious injuries in New Zealand every year, and a spring fitted to the wrong specification will wear out your motor. If the fault involves either, please call someone.
Yes, and that is most of the repair work we do. It makes no difference who supplied the door, who fitted it or how old it is. We work on sectional doors of any brand, residential and light commercial roller doors, aluminium and timber doors, and openers of any brand. Bringing us in does not void anything, and we will tell you if a manufacturer warranty still applies.
